Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine was certainly fantastic. The relaxing time spent at home also allowed time to finish my latest creation. I needlepointed Raymond Crawford’s beautiful Poinsettia canvas. I then finished it into a pillow with icy green dupioni silk and fun ball fringe.
Here are a few close-ups. The background is done with a simple continental stitch in two strands of white Mandarin Express (Rainbow Gallery’s Bamboo thread). The stitch creates a wonderful tactile difference to the padded satin stitch of the Pima Cotton petals.
And of course, a little bling was necessary for the flower centers. The french knots are topped with Swarovski crystal beads.
